Welcome Message from the

President of the World Council of Civil Engineers

Dear colleagues and members of the World Council of Civil Engineers,

It is an honor to address you as President of the World Council of Civil Engineers (WCCE), a position I assumed in October 2024 in Limassol, Cyprus. With great enthusiasm, I take on the responsibility of leading this prestigious organization, consolidating its growth and strengthening its administrative and financial areas.

During my tenure, we will focus on three fundamental strategic pillars for the development of our organization: capacity building, attracting new members, and economic strengthening. We firmly believe that enhancing the skills and competencies of our members is essential to facing the global challenges that impact civil engineering today. Therefore, we will promote training and virtual education programs, enabling access to cutting-edge knowledge and fostering the continuous professional development of our members.

Additionally, we will seek to expand our community by attracting new members who share our vision and commitment to sustainable development, professional ethics, and excellence in civil engineering. The expansion and consolidation of our network of professionals and institutions will allow us to strengthen our representativeness and global impact.

The financial sustainability of our organization is another fundamental pillar to ensure its continuity and operational capacity. We will implement strategies to reinforce our economic resources, thereby securing the funding of our initiatives and projects. In this regard, the proper functioning of our strategic committees will be key to planning and executing actions aligned with our institutional objectives.
One of the guiding principles of our administration will be an effective contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting ethical, transparent, and innovative civil engineering. We will face the fight against corruption in our profession with determination, fostering responsible practices that strengthen trust in our work and ensure a positive impact on our communities.

I invite all members of the World Council of Civil Engineers to actively participate in this new stage of the organization. With everyone’s commitment, we will consolidate a stronger, more influential institution dedicated to sustainable development and global well-being.
